Our expertise in detecting glaucoma

At Oculus Eye Clinics, it’s vital to detect increased intraocular pressure and glaucoma in the earliest stages, since the disease is asymptomatic, and we insist on the importance of screening from the age of 40.

To ensure the absence of the disease, our experienced ophthalmologists perform a complete glaucoma screening consisting of non-invasive and painless examinations:

1. Tonometry

This test measures the pressure inside your eye.

2. Visual field examination

This test checks for vision loss in your side or peripheral vision.

3. Optical coherence tomography

The latest scientific studies demonstrate that the use of computer imaging technology such as optical coherence tomography (OCT) now enables precise measurements of the retinal nerve fiber layer that cannot be visualized with the naked eye. This test monitors and detects the loss of optic nerve cells over time.

4. Optical disc photography

Optic nerve photographs document the severity of optic nerve damage and are useful for monitoring changes over time.

5. Pachymetry

it’s the measurement of the thickness of the corneal layer of the eye that can influence the measurement of your ocular pressure.

6. Gonioscopy

This is an examination of the drainage angle of the fluid in your eye.
